If you are injured on the job — report it immediately. Do not wait. Do not let anyone tell you to come back later. Your health comes before the operation.
Know Your Rights — Report Every Injury
Those small aches and pains that don't seem serious at first can turn into major issues over time. That's why it's critical to report any injury right when it happens — clearly, completely, and with a Union Representative present whenever possible.
Always report your injury with a Union Shop Steward or Safety Representative present. Locate a member of management and inform them of the injury. Even if you don't need immediate medical attention, filing the report creates a record that protects you down the road.
Always review the report with your steward before signing. Request a copy for your own records. Make sure your Safety Representative is notified — this allows us to track incidents and prevent similar injuries from happening to other members in the future.
Your voice matters. Your safety matters. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
Steps to Follow After an Injury
- Stop work immediately and assess your condition. Do not push through pain.
- Notify your supervisor right away. Do not delay — time of report matters.
- Contact your Union Shop Steward or Safety Representative before signing anything.
- Review the report before signing and request a copy for your records.
- Submit this form so UnionSafe141 can track the incident and support your case.
If Management Tells You to Come Back Later
- Politely but firmly insist on reporting the injury immediately.
- Note the manager's name, title, and the exact time you were told to delay.
- Contact your Union Safety Representative right away.
- Document everything — in writing if possible.
